The Little Theatre’s next production is the wonderful Martin McDonagh play The Cripple of Inishmaan which opens on April 20 and runs for eight nights until Sunday April 27 at 8.30pm.

Moylette makes his way back

St Anne’s Ray Moylette will compete in the semi-finals of the National Elite Championships in the National Stadium in Dublin this evening. The former European and World junior champion saw off the challenge of Sean Montgomery (Canal BC) last Sunday in the same venue. The Islandeady boxer will be up against Portlaoise’s Michael Nevin who won two bouts last weekend to get to this stage of the competition. If Moylette picks up the win he’ll face the inner of Dean Walsh (St Joseph’s/St Ibars) and Rohan Date (St Paul’s).

Ballina split the spoils in tournament

The boxers from Ballina shared the wins in their own competition last Sunday afternoon, picking up seven victories from 14 bouts in a competitive afternoon of boxing. The Ballina competition was the second last tournament before the Mayo championships and there were a number of boxers honing their craft in the Dick Hearns centre before the county championships. Caroline McDonagh was awarded the club boxer of the season award and the 12-year-old looked impressive in her fight win over Molly Rowley from Swinford in the girl two 39kg category.
